The 411

I’m The Chew, Chew Mama. I am happily married and have a beautiful baby boy. Motherhood far exceeds my expectations…I love it…even on the days when I am tired from being up in the middle of the night (or all night long) or when i’m cleaning up the same mess for the 100th time. It really is the greatest gift of all. The giggles, the smiles, the wonder as he explores his world…it’s pure magic!

every. single. day.

In this blog I share about our lives and our quest to find something to laugh and smile about every day.  Life happens way too fast.  And so, I find myself appreciating that motherhood is slowing me down in the most unexpected and magical ways…

My husband, motherhood, photography, navigating through my son’s newly diagnosed peanut allergy and my work as a Speech Language Pathologist are my passions.

As a Speech Language Pathologist, I specialize in Pediatric Dysphagia (Feeding & Swallow disorders). I love helping babies eat through their mouths instead of through tubes in their noses, mouths or tiny bellies.  And when I am not helping kids swallow and “chew” at work…I am usually at home pushing a “choo, choo” with my cub.  And that’s how I became the Chew Chew Mama.

I hope that my posts will add a smile or a laugh to your days.

And please keep in mind that none of the information that I share on this blog is intended as medical advice or to replace the treatment or recommendations of your doctor or other health professional.  If you suspect an allergy, talk with your pediatrician and/or allergist immediately.  If you suspect a delay in your child’s speech or language, talk with your pediatrician and ask for a referral for a Speech Language Evaluation.

Chew Chew Mama’s Education includes:
Bachelors Degree in Psychology
Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology with a concentration in pediatric dysphagia (feeding/swallowing disorders)
Certified Lactation Counselor, Healthy Children’s Center for Breastfeeding
Certified Instructor of Infant Massage, IAIM
Certified in Beckman Oral Motor Therapy
Hanen Certified Speech Language Pathologist
Fragile Infant Feeding Institute Attendant, 2009
